We've had a lot of questions about what to expect...so this is what the Appraiser is looking at during an inspection:) The lay of your land...slope; wet/dry; the type of road you live on, ease of access, view... The structure, condition, materials used and age of: exterior walls, roof, porches, decks, windows, interior walls, ceilings, floors, cabinets, wiring, heating systems, basements, foundations...things like that. They will also take a picture of the exterior structures. WORRY NOT about clutter, dust, cleanliness, stuff in general! We all LIVE in our homes and we expect to see that you do the same! As we listers travel with the appraiser on about 25% of his inspections, we are boots on the ground learning what is reflected in the program codes used for valuation so that we can keep the same equity level in the evaluations of future improvements after this town wide appraisal is finished. All valuation tool information will stay the same until the next town wide reappraisal...so for awhile! Calling one and all....the online Reappraisal Inspection Scheduler is now live and accessible on the Home page on the town website! Just click the button and schedule the time for your own Reappraisal Inspection! Easy Peasy :) If you would rather call the town office and have a lister schedule for you, we would be pleased to do that for you. A reminder....none of the new values will go into effect until April 1st, 2026...and we all will receive our value changes on the same day, at the same time. This inspection is just to collect updated data so all values will be as accurate as possible and you will all get to see these new values and ask questions, contest, etc, before the Grand List goes live in the summer of 2026! Any corrections to our data are welcome and needed. Let's get this thing done!

REAPPRAISAL UPDATE! Boots on the ground for the Listers this Thursday from noon to 4:00pm with Andrew from Tyler Tech to inspect houses and properties of TOWN OFFICERS AND TOWN EMPLOYEES. I think I'm one of the first ones.... Calendy has still not been set up for you to schedule yet, so we don't have the ability to make appointments yet...that should be soon though. If you are not around, we plan to leave a packet on your doorknob, take updated pictures and measure outside. We'll get as far as we can and then continue next week. I will keep you posted. Please contact us when you receive the door-hanger packet and we'll figure out a time that works for you to complete the inspection.
